Child Drowning Lawsuit Filed – Swimming Pool Accident November 22, 2010

Our Michigan child injury lawyers recently filed a swimming pool accident lawsuit on behalf of a two year old girl who was submersed under water for an unspecified amount of time in a St. Clair Shores pool.  The two year old girl climbed into the pool, which was in the backyard of a home owned by a friend of the family. Due to the pool accident, the little girl suffers catastrophic brain injuries and is unable to walk or communicate. There is an ongoing criminal investigation of the incident. No date has been set for a jury trial in this matter.

Owners of swimming pools, both public and private, can be held liable for their negligence in maintaining a safe swimming pool. Private property owners who have a pool in their property are required to have a fence around that area. It is also recommended that they have isolation fencing with self-latching gates, motion detectors, and effective pool covers to prevent small children from gaining access. If you or a family member suffer injuries or have lost a loved one due to a Michigan swimming pool accident, contact our office immediately at (800) 606-1717 to discuss your case with a Michigan swimming pool accident attorney.
