Royal Oak Infant Dies Due To Crib Entrapment - Nap Nanny Baby Recliner Recall July 27, 2010
Our Michigan child injury lawyers are reporting that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety (CPSC) and Baby Matters LLC are recalling 30,000 Nap Nanny portable baby recliners. According to the CPSC, a 4-month-old girl from Royal Oak died due to being entrapped between the baby recliner and the crib bumper, when the Nap Nanny was used in a crib. There was another incident that CPSC and Baby Matters were aware of when an infant suffered a cut to the forehead due to entrapment between the baby recliner and the crib.
The CPSC also reports that there were 22 reports of infants hanging or falling out of the Nap Nanny as well and recommends not placing a Nap Nanny baby recliner inside a crib or any other type of confined area.
Consumers who purchased a first generation Nap Nanny model, without “D”-rings, and second generation Nap Nanny model, with “D”-rings, should stop using the recalled product immediately and contact Baby Matters at (888) 240-4282 or visit the firm’s website at www.napnanny.com/recall to find out more information.
